Help your students experience the world in a new way—all it takes is a simple trip to the movies!
The Chicago International Children’s Film Festival is a great way to motivate your class discussions. We present three weeks of multi-cultural films that encourage children to explore world cultures, language studies, creative arts, social studies, history, literature, and more!
The Festival reaches children of all ages with inspiring messages, diverse stories, and intellectually stimulating activities. After one trip to the Festival, you will have weeks of exciting and thought-provoking material for discussion, writing assignments, and follow-up exercises.

Highlights of ‘KidsFest’:
Multi-cultural programming, featuring over 200 films from 40 countries. For groups of 25 children or more, tickets are only $5 per child.
Age-appropriate programs with topics for every area of study!
- All teachers who attend the Festival receive a 120-page curriculum for classroom study, with worksheets, questions for discussion, and activities. Our curriculum meets State learning goals!
- Professional Development Workshops are offered free of charge to teachers attending the Festival. CPDU’s will be available to teachers.
- Special diversity programs including: "Proud To Be Me: Stories of African and African-American Children" and "Espanol Para Todos", a Spanish language program.
- Look for "Reel Poetry", a groundbreaking and unique screening of poetry-based films, immediately followed by discussion, readings and activities.
2008 Group Screening Dates:
We welcome groups to the Festival weekdays, October 24 - October 31, 2008 with two additional weeks of special group screenings weekdays, November 3 - November 14, 2008.
Group Screenings take place at 9:45, 10:15, 10:45, 11:15, and 11:45 a.m. Monday through Friday at several Chicago venues including:
- Facets Multi-Media (1517 W. Fullerton Ave.),
- Kerasotes Showplace 14 (2600 N. Western Ave.),
- Harold Washington Cultural Center (4701 S. King Dr.),
- and the Thorne Auditorium (375 E. Chicago Ave.).
