What is Young Chicago Critics?
Facets’ Young Chicago Critics is the only film camp where kids ages 7 to 14 learn what it takes to produce, perform and critique films just like the pros. The eight-day camp offers each child detailed instruction in the craft of writing film reviews, and provides kids with hours of hands-on experience in film production. Dynamic interaction is the cornerstone of the Critics sessions where kids take an active role. Whether your child has a little or a lot of experience in filmmaking, YCC will give them the skills and confidence to produce a well-told story with moving images. YCC also helps kids make the connection between thinking critically about movies and creating them. There is no better place in Chicago for kids to make friends with kids who love movies as much as they do!
